Bringing the correct documents to your course is crucial for ensuring your identity is verified and that everything runs smoothly. Here's a quick guide on what you’ll need, depending on your course.
Documents for SIA courses
If you are attending an SIA course such as Door Supervisor, Security Guard, CCTV Training, you need to bring the following documents:
Proof of ID:
You need ONE of the following to verify your identity:
UK Passport (current and valid)
Non-UK Passport (current and valid)
UK Photocard Driving Licence (issued by DVLA)
Northern Ireland Driving Licence (photocard and paper counterpart)
UK Birth Certificate (issued within 12 months of birth)
UK Biometric Residence Permit (current and valid)
Proof of Address:
Bring TWO of these recent documents to confirm your address:
Bank or Building Society Statement (less than 3 months old)
Utility Bill (less than 3 months old; gas, electric, water, etc., but not mobile bills)
Credit Card Statement (less than 3 months old)
Council Tax Statement (from the last 12 months)
Mortgage Statement (from the last 12 months)
Official Letter (from HMRC, DWP, or other government departments, less than 3 months old)
P45 or P60 Tax Statement (from the last 12 months)
Driving Licence (photocard or paper version issued in Northern Ireland)
Pension, Endowment, or ISA Statement (from the last 12 months)
UK Firearms Licence (with photo)
Note: A passport (if not used as proof of ID) can also serve as proof of address.
Passport-size Photo:
Bring a recent passport-sized photo for identification purposes during the course. Not required if you are doing a Door Supervisor (Top-up Refresher or Full course) or Security Guard training.
First Aid Certificate:
You also need to bring a valid Emergency First Aid at Work certificate if you are not doing a CCTV course. Your certificate must:
Not expire at least 12 months from your course date
Be from a physical training. Online training certificates are not acceptable
If you do not have a valid First Aid Certificate, you can include it with your training for a discounted fee of £79 pounds.

Documents for Non SIA courses
If you are doing a non-SIA course such as Personal Licence Training, Emergency First Aid at Work, Basic Handcuff training etc, you need to bring a valid photo ID such as Passport, Driving Licence or Biometric Residence Permit.
